Chilliwack’s downtown revolves around District 1881, a pocket of historic architecture and pedestrian alleys along Mill Street that’s become the city’s social centre, packed with loft apartments, coffee shops, and taprooms. Beyond downtown, family-first neighbourhoods like Sardis and the master-planned Garrison Crossing offer easy, convenience-first living, while the surrounding valley delivers some of the best outdoor access in the Fraser Valley — Bridal Veil Falls, Lindeman Lake, and the Vedder Rotary Trail among them. It’s a noticeably more affordable, slower-paced alternative to the cities closer to Vancouver, without giving up much in the way of culture or things to do.

The Lifestyle
Mornings might start with a coffee on Mill Street or a run along the Vedder Rotary Trail before the day gets going. Lunch is a stop at one of District 1881’s cafés or the Sunday farmers market in season. Evenings bring a taproom pint, a show at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre, or dinner somewhere along Mill Street. Weekends head out to Bridal Veil Falls or Lindeman Lake for a hike, Cultus Lake Adventure Park for the kids, or the Botanica Flower Festival and Chilliwack Pride when the seasons call for it.
